Position Overview Tryon Equine Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician Supervisor with a passion for leadership, training and coaching to lead our team of professional Veterinary Technicians.
The successful candidate will be an integral player in the smooth functioning of our business, exhibiting superb clinical and leadership skills while also cultivating a positive and collaborative culture, driving efficiency, organizing daily flow, and ensuring hospital goals are met.
As the team leader, the Veterinary Technician Supervisor will utilize well-honed team development, people management, and problem-solving skills to accomplish goals.
A collaborative, engaging and inspiring style -- coupled with the ability to also train, trust, and hold others accountable - is essential.
Responsibilities:
Lead team of Veterinary Technicians, providing daily direction to accomplish work goals, setting staff schedules and priorities, assigning responsibilities, coordinating work, and monitoring progress, while also removing obstacles and providing resources Serve as a mentor to staff by modeling positive work habits, superior clinical skills, business knowledge, and communication abilities Coach team members to be continuously aware and proactive at anticipating and addressing patient and client needs, and to seek assistance with escalating situations Direct, monitor and support Technicians daily work activities, ensuring productivity and efficient workflow Forecast and determine staffing requirements to meet hospital nursing needs Create and manage technician staff schedules (including on-call schedule) according to hospital needs, monitoring and regulating overtime hours, approving PTO/sick time/holiday schedule, and ensuring proper coverage of all shifts to optimize patient and client care Participate in the interview process for potential new hires, and onboard and train all new technicians Perform Technician performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and developing performance improvement plans or exit strategies as necessary Organize and oversee the educational training and skills development of Technicians Exhibit confidentiality and professionalism in all regards for employees, being proactive and determined in approach to issue resolution Liaison with other departments and supervisors, facilitating open communication, resolving issues as needed Develop written, standardized Technician protocols that provide uniform processes and decision making in handling and caring for patients Schedule and conduct productive staff meetings Collaborate with Practice Manager to improve operating procedures and support hospital growth and advancement Escalate issues to Practice Manager as needed Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

years full time Veterinary Technician clinical experience, preferably in a supervisory role 2
years staff scheduling experience Excellent customer service, multi-tasking, and time management skills, with ability to prioritize work as hospital needs evolve Superb verbal, listening and written communication skills Self-starter with ability to quickly pivot and adapt as unexpected situations arise Exceptional people, detail, and problem-solving skills Ability to maintain composure and positive attitude in stressful situations Collaborates easily with co-workers and others Technologically savvy, comfortable with navigating through multiple windows, screens and/or programs simultaneously Compensation and
Benefits:
